This restaurant has been recommended to me by many, many people and with New York being so big and having so many restaurants, I figured there much be something to this place. The tiny little space is located in the West Village and serves lunch and dinner. The whole place can’t have more than 10 tables, making reservations quite difficult to say the least. I showed up with a friend for lunch on a Friday and only had to wait 20 minutes before be seated at the bar. The food is hearty American-they are known for their meatball sliders and burger. It probably isn’t the best choice in the middle of summer, but I was so curious and figured I could find some lighter fare for the middle of a hot day. The space is quaint and rather romantic, even for lunch. My friend and I shared the sliders which I thought were quite underwhelming considering the hype.
For our entrée we had scallops with grapefruit, olives and frisee. The scallops were good and the service was friendly, but I don’t think I would go back considering all the places in New York with a great atmosphere and great food.
